Dr Sarmad Iwaz has been a doctor at the nearby Kowhai Clinic for six years. Before this, he worked in general practice clinics and hospitals around Auckland, and he has a wealth of medical experience.

Dr Sahar Bahnam has over 10 years of GP experience, with a special interest in women’s health and mental health.  She is available to see all our existing patients.

 Dr Medha Kadam, MBBS, FRNZCGP. She is a General Practitioner with over 18 years of experience, dedicated to providing comprehensive and compassionate care. she has worked in various healthcare settings. Medha has a special interest in palliative care and travel medicine and holds postgraduate qualifications in these areas. Additionally, she enjoys appearance and cosmetic medicine and is currently pursuing her diploma with the New Zealand Society of Cosmetic Medicine (NZSCM). 

Welcome, Dr Mustafa Al Shaar, to Mayfield Medical Centre. He has joined our team, and we are very pleased to have him with us.

Dr Mustafa AlShaar

General Practitioner FACEM FRNZCGP MBChB and Emergency Medicine Specialist

Dr Alshaar is both a Specialist and GP – he obtained a Fellowship Degree in Emergency Medicine in 2012 and another in General Practice in 2018. Dr Alshaar has an impressive knowledge of the healthcare in Aotearoa. Has over 20 years working his way up the medical ladder here while also experiencing the practice of medicine in various DHBs throughout the country. He concurrently works for a North Island DHB as an Emergency Specialist and with a South Island DHB as a GP. His wife (an Ophthalmologist) works for a separate DHB. Together they have two energetic daughters, and they all share a love of sport.

Along with the experienced team of nurses and administrative staff, we are excited to provide General Practice services and excellent care to our patients.
